Imperium Trust Receive Bronze Award for Swimarathon Efforts

The Skipton Swimarathon took place during October, having been given the seal of approval to proceed by Guernsey’s Director of Public Health, Dr Nicola Brink. Imperium Trust entered a team to take part and raise donations for this year’s Swimarathon beneficiary, Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association (GAA).
This year’s fund raising efforts for the overall event saw a record breaking £65,000 raised for the charity, the funds raised will enable them to expand the service they provide to the island, supporting more carers of those with dementia.
The first Swimarathon organising committee was formed by The Lions Club of Guernsey, Guernsey Round Table and Variety Club of Guernsey under the chairmanship of Harry Bisson in 1977 with the aim of raising funds to put back into the community. Forty years later and the event has grown from 1,000 swimmers to over 2,500 in 2019, raising over £1,600,000 for Guernsey charities.
Imperium were awarded with a Bronze award for the fundraising efforts of the team within the Corporate Awards section and look forward to taking part again next year.
