Fifteen Years of Independence
This year marks fifteen years since Imperium was founded in Guernsey. In that time, a Guernsey business has grown into a Group spanning five jurisdictions, Guernsey, Jersey, the UK, Switzerland and, most recently, Abu Dhabi. The business looks very different today than it did in 2011. What hasn't changed is what it was built on.
Independence
From the outset, Imperium has set its own course rather than answering to outside shareholders or a parent group's agenda. Fifteen years on, that independence still shapes how decisions get made quickly, and on our own terms.
Private ownership
Being privately owned has allowed us to think in years and decades rather than quarters. Investment in people, offices and capability has happened on its own timeline, not someone else's, a freedom that's arguably rarer in this industry than it should be.
Relationships
Growth has come through people, not just process. Colleagues who've stayed for years. Clients who've stayed for longer. Intermediaries and partners who've been part of the journey since the early days. In a business built on trust, that continuity matters more than anything.
The centrepiece is a Group celebration in Guernsey on 17 September, bringing together colleagues, clients and intermediaries from every jurisdiction in one room, itself a small illustration of how far the story has travelled since 2011.
For now, this is simply the beginning: fifteen years of independence, privately owned, built on relationships.
