Imperium Expands Private Market Services Platform with Acquisition of Midmar Capital

Imperium today announces the acquisition of Midmar Capital, an FCA-authorised investment management firm that provides regulatory incubation and support services for start-up investment businesses with a focus on alternative assets, such as private equity and venture capital.

This milestone marks a significant step in the continued growth of Imperium’s Funds business, which has developed into an established and trusted fund services provider, reaching £5bn AuA this year. During this time, Imperium has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality fund administration services to private equity, venture capital and other alternative fund managers.

The addition of Midmar Capital enhances Imperium’s ability to support managers at every stage of their lifecycle, from initial launch through to institutional scale, by combining fund administration expertise with specialist regulatory hosting solutions.

Midmar Capital has established itself as a leading provider of regulatory incubation services in the UK, supporting the launch of over 50 institutional investment funds across private equity, venture capital and hedge fund strategies. Its focus on high-growth sectors, including technology and sustainability, closely aligns with Imperium’s existing client base.

Together, the businesses create a more comprehensive and integrated offering for emerging and scaling managers, responding to increasing demand for institutional-grade infrastructure, governance and regulatory oversight from day one.

Barry McClay, Group Head of Funds at Imperium, said:

Over the past six years, we have grown Imperium’s Funds business into a trusted partner for fund managers seeking high-quality, scalable operational support. The addition of Midmar Capital is a natural next step in that journey, allowing us to broaden our offering and provide clients with integrated regulatory and operational infrastructure from launch through to maturity.

Kevin Gallacher, CEO of Midmar Capital, added:

Joining Imperium represents an exciting opportunity to build on the platform we have developed and to offer our clients access to a broader range of services as they scale. The alignment in culture and client focus makes this a compelling combination.

The transaction further strengthens Imperium’s broader Group platform, which now comprises seven regulated businesses across the Channel Islands, the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
