Chief Operating Officer, Jersey

James Wileman

James joined Imperium in 2026 as Chief Operating Officer of the Jersey business. He is responsible for operational strategy, with a particular focus on efficiency, resilience and scalable growth, while supporting the delivery of high standards of client service and governance.

Prior to joining Imperium, James held roles in governance, risk, compliance and operations within Jersey’s trust company sector, where he focused on operational leadership, business transformation and the development of robust systems and service models within a regulated environment. Before moving into financial services, he served for 18 years at a senior level in Jersey’s public sector, most notably as Jersey’s Deputy Chief of Police, and fulfilled the responsibilities of Chief of Police during a period of extended absence. He holds several qualifications from the ICA and STEP, and completed postgraduate studies at Warwick Business School.

Over the course of his career, James has led large teams, overseen strategic change programmes and worked across organisational and jurisdictional boundaries. He brings broad leadership experience across sectors, together with a strong track record of delivering change in complex and high-profile environments.

In his spare time, James enjoys travel, particularly a healthy mix of sunshine and ski slopes.
